FREE ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED THROUGHOUT THE DAY!

Author-Illustrator, Mike Ciccotello will introduce how to build drawings with tools, like a circle, square, and line. Then he will lead the children in two draw-along activities and create characters from one of his books using basic lines and shapes. Join us for demonstration of Amelia’s 3D technique using illustrations from her books, My Monsterpieceand Masha Munching. She’ll use original art to compare with the print in the book and demonstrate how she created the effect by cutting the figures out of paper and gluing them on the painted background to make them look as if they pop up of the page. Also demonstrated will be collage and painting of surfaces such as paper plated & supermarket bags, as used in my Monsterpiece. Afterwards, children will have the opportunity to color coloring pages from both books. 

Jackie Azúa Kramer will conduct a bilingual read aloud (English/Spanish) of her picture book EL PARAGUAS VERDE/THE GREEN UMBRELLA.

Join Mindy as she reads her picture book In My Mosque, followed by a brief magic trick, Q&A, and special craft activity.

 After reading her book  Mermaid and Pirate members of the audience get to propose new creatures to "talk" to mermaid and pirate, and envision what their language would sound like. This is a fun, interactive, cumulative, community experience.

Dawn Halasz (a.k.a. Dawny Dew) turns children's songs, stories and rhymes into fun filled activities for children ages 6 months to 6 years.  She and her puppets Sonny, Goo goo, Gaga and many others, enchant and delight children of all ages. Singing and the natural interaction with her audience create a session of fun, laughter and learning.
